Tracy Niles invited back to The Coach House to open for Shawn Colvin, Friday, August 6th
Tracy had such a great turnout and show at the JD Souther gig (below) she is invited back to open for the 3-time Grammy Winner Shawn Colvin.  She'll play another acoustic set and her new tunes including "Black Heart Blues" which received great feedback at the last show.  She is honored to open for Shawn Colvin who has been touring since her Grammy Wins for Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Sunny Came Home" in 1996.  Her album "Shawn Colvin Live" was nominated for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 2009.  Colvin has been long-praised by critics for her live shows so this is a show not to be missed!  The Coach House Concert Hall seats 480 and 300 seats are for dinner seats.  Booking dinner reservations is a great way to get there early and get a better seat closer to the stage.  Visit www.thecoachhouse.com

Tracy Niles at The Coach House San Juan Capistrano, Sunday, June 20th
Tracy will be opening for singer/songwriter JD Souther at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano.  This will be Tracy's first time playing at the legendary Concert Hall which books National Acts seven nights a week and supports local bands.  She'll be there with her Taylor acoustic guitar and conga player Jeryl Thompson playing new bluesy songs for the first time and some favorites, too.  JD Souther, a highly sought out songwriter and session man, played a key role in the formation of the Eagles and co-wrote many of their hit songs such as "Heartache Tonight", "Victim of Love", "Best of My Love" and "New Kid in Town" as well as James Taylor's duet "Her Town Too".  The Eagles chose Souther's protest song "How Long" as the Debut Single to their latest studio album "Long Road Out of Eden".  Souther was honored with ASCAP's prestigious Golden Note Award at the 47th Annual ASCAP's Country Music Awards in October 2009 for songwriters who have obtained extraordinary career milestones.  The Coach House Concert Hall seats 480 and 300 seats are for dinner seats.  Booking dinner reservations is a great way to get there early and get a better seat closer to the stage.  Visit www.thecoachhouse.com  Also visit www.jdsouther.net

Tracy Niles to perform at the Temecula Valley International Jazz Festival (July 9th - 11th)!
Tracy has the honor of performing on Opening Night of the Temecula Jazz Festival on Friday, July 9th, 2010 at the Temecula Valley Cultural Arts Center (see Schedule Page for details).  The Festival is in it's 5th year and the line-up is better than ever.  This year, the Festival is a tribute to Ella Fitzgerald and Tracy will be going on just before Ray Brown, Jr., the son of Ella Fitzgerald and the legendary bass player Ray Brown.   Performers throughout the weekend include Pancho Sanchez, Trini Lopez, Freda Payne and Herb Jeffries.  For ticket information, visit www.temeculajazzfest.com

The "Tracy Niles Band" is HERE!
Well, the DEMO is complete so go to the Music page and CHECK IT OUT!  Chuck Alvarez is on lead guitar, Jeryl Thompson on drums, Jimmy Perez on bass, Theo Bishop on keyboards and "Cadillac"Dan Bolten on sax.  Tracy chose "I Dont' Want No Man as the driving, edgy blues opener and it rocks!  Next is U2's "When Love Comes to Town".  The band gives it a funky groove and a jazzy piano solo mid-stream behind Tracy's soulful vocals.  The hot sax and harmonies in the end bring it all home.  The demo rounds out perfectly with Tracy's own bluesy "Driving Me Mad' where she sings about being attracted to an unfaithful man.  The Demo leaves you wanting to hear more.  Do you want Tracy Niles to record a new CD?  Let her know by going out to hear her live and sending e-mails!

Yes, it's true!  Tracy has a rockin' new band together with some HOT musicians playin' sax, lead guitar, drums, bass and keyboards.  They're working new material of Tracy's unique blend of blues and rock with touches of soul and jazz.  The demo will be done end of April, 2010, so watch for new bookings!  And, of course, Tracy is also geared up for trio's, duets and solo performances with new songs and arrangements!

Tracy Niles rocks “Coffee House Night” at Parkcrest Church Saturday, March 28th, 2009.
One Saturday Night a month,
ParkcrestChurch holds an event in their auditorium-turned-night club complete with full stage and sounds system, refreshments and candle-lit ambiance.  They invite secular musicians to join them in their inviting "Bistro" like setting.  Tracy, along with musical guest Steve Kirby who backed her on guitar, played two full sets in front of a packed house including Niles’ "Butterfly", "Paris Eyes" and "Can’t Hold Me Back" as well as a thoughtful version of Sheryl Crow's "Strong Enough" and The Pretenders' "Brass in Pocket".  A blues-boogie medley based on Led Zeppelin’s "Rock and Roll" also caught lots of attention.  Kirby is an accomplished jazz guitarist/singer and currently performs in a Bossa-Nova project in a duet named “Sleeping Bee” with Laura Valle, who sings in Portugese and Spanish. She performed at the Songwriter Showcase at the Marine Room Tavern in Laguna Beach, Tuesday, February 24th, 2009.
Every Tuesday Night, at the Marine Room, 214 Ocean Ave.Laguna Beach, Beth F. Wood conducts a Songwriter's Showcase with lots of great musical talent from the just starting out to the seasoned artists. The Charles (Dolo) Coker Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization created to assist full time high school or college students who are pursuing careers in music in the field of jazz. It was founded in 1983 and was created as a tribute to jazz pianist, arranger, composer, Xanadu recording artist and teacher, Dolo Coker. Tracy Niles wins Female Vocalist of the Year for 2003 at the 13th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards.
Accompanied by Elvis Schoenberg's Orchestre Surreal, Tracy performed "You're My Way Home" from her self-released CD "Breaking the Silence". She received overwhelming praise for her performance and reactions such as "Janis Joplin with an orchestra" could be heard both after her performance and while receiving her award for Female Vocalist of the Year. Tracy Niles makes it to the semi-finals of Music Quest, a nationwide competition presented by SoulCity Cafe.
Soul City Cafe is the brainchild of Jewel Kilcher and was created to support a wide range of artistic modes and expression. At the present time, the focus is on music, poetry (spoken word), and filmmaking. Music Quest is Soul City Cafe's first competition for bands and solo artists. Tracy Niles performed at the first "Indie By Design" concert series Friday, July 19, 2002
"Indie By Design" was founded by Danielle LoPresti and Kelly Bowen with the purpose of supporting independent artists stating "All of them are independent minded musicians who are making music on their own terms."

Tracy Niles performed at Chuck Niles' 75th Birthday Party in Long Beach, CA
Tracy gave her father, Chuck Niles, known as the "Voice of Jazz" of KKJZ 88.1 FM in Long Beach, a blues song she wrote especially for him. The song is called "My Sweet Lovin' Daddy" and was performed in front of 550 guests, which included many great jazz artists. The event took place Saturday, July 13, 2002 at the Westin Hotel in Long Beach and was a huge success.

The CD release party for "breaking the silence," the new solo acoustic CD by Tracy Niles, was a huge success. It was standing-room only for much of the evening as many of Tracy's fans, friends, long-time supporters, and even new music-lovers who recently discovered Tracy's music, came out for an evening of music, celebration and memories. THANK YOU to EVERYONE who came; the Metaphor Cafe for the great accomodations; and Ren Zenner (The Coast News "Rock On!" music columnist and songwriter/lead singer for the band The Good China) for performing at the CD release party. Highlights include a CD release party for Tracy's BRAND NEW CD, "breaking the silence" a powerful solo acoustic CD showing her extraordinary voice, two Los Angeles-area performances (Santa Monica and Studio City), a benefit concert for the Avon 3-Day Walk for Breast Cancer with performances by Tracy Niles, Lisa Sanders, Sue Palmer, and Eve Selis, and Tracy will be giving a presentation at the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad for the Vista Academy for the Visual/Performing Arts. The mission of the
VistaAcademy is to educate all children in an environment that encourages creativity, self-awareness, and self-expression through an appreciation of the visual and performing arts.

All of us have been affected in some manner relating to the tragic events of Sept, 11, 2001. To help in the efforts of supporting those who need aid the most, Tracy Niles will perform at a special benefit concert called "
Music 4 America" with proceeds being donated to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. This very special event includes performances by 18 of San Diego's most popular bands and artists, including TRACY NILES, held at San Diego's historic Starlight Bowl amphitheater--under the sun and under the stars--at BalboaPark.

Thanks to all the fans who drove to Los Angeles/Santa Monica for the Sept. 14 performance at 14 Below, and thanks to all the OrangeCounty/Los Angeles fans who came, too. Tracy Niles performed a rockin' show that also impressed many new fans in attendance who bought CDs and hoped Tracy would perform in the L.A. area again. Also, in attendance were many of Tracy's family, friends and long-time fans which made the evening more special. Tracy opened the show for Stephen Bruton. Los Angeles area, north of Santa Monica. Event includes hot rods, muscle cars, customs, woodies, pro streets, with hundreds of cars and product booths. Also: live music (TRACY NILES) and food booths. By popular demand, Tracy Niles has recorded a live CD so you can listen to her shows anytime. The CD "Tracy Niles Live at the Rhythm Cafe" was recorded Oct. 6, 2000, at the popular
Oceanside coffee house. Most of Tracy's live performances are "plugged in" with the band, but this recording really shows that Tracy's live performance is just as energetic and emotionally charged when performed acoustically. You can listen to song samples from the CD in the MUSIC section. Tracy will perform at the Rhythm Cafe again March 31, 2001, and possibly record another live CD.

Tracy Niles and the band have won several Spotlight San Diego band competitions at the legendary Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, California, and were named the Belly Up's "Best of the Month" artist for August 2000.
