§     " Niles is basically a blues singer, but not in the torch-singer tradition. She adds rock, with touches of soul and jazz, and accompanies herself on acoustic guitar. The result is a hybrid that's all her own."  ~ North County Times, March 21st, 2002 __

§     “In "You're My Way Home" (track #2), she takes the listener on a textured vocal journey through guttural growls into delicate falsetto highs.”  ~Dave Garcia, The Rhythm Café, Oceanside, CA,  San Diego Troubador, May 2002 Vol 1, #8

§     “For Niles, performing live is the ultimate experience, and she makes sure every show is special. In a very bold career move, …..the talented newcomer released one of her live concerts as her first CD. "Live at the Rhythm Cafe" was an instant hit with her fans. It even caught the attention of radio station SETS 102.1, which gave the song "Moving On" some airplay.”  ~Joanne Ball, Peninsula Beacon, July 26th, 2001

Tracy Niles is a blues singer who sings her songs of lost loves powerfully from her heart with spirit and soul and catches every audience's attention.....immediately!  Judges agreed at the 13th Annual L.A. Music Awards where she won "Female Vocalist of the Year" and performed her song "You're My Way Home with her Taylor guitar and a 20-piece orchestra in 2003.

Tracy has been performing as a solo act for several years, but now she's formed a group of ultra talented musicians!  The new "Tracy Niles Band" is ready to rock 2010!  Armed with new songs and hot arrangements, she's ready to fire off her new bluesy-rock sound.  This versatile artist is also adept at slimming the full 6-member band down to a quartet, trio or duet to fit all formats and venues.  She hasn't left her solo act behind either.  There is no doubt that with her range and talent, she's poised to fly high!

Tracy burst on the San Diego music scene in 2000 with her soulful voice and vibrant presence.  Her first acoustic CD "Breaking The Silence," released in March 2002, was nominated for a 2002 San Diego Music Award in the category of "Best Local Recording" and received airplay regularly on San Diego's KPRI Sunday morning Acoustic Show.  Niles and her band played in popular clubs such as Humphrey’s By the Bay, at Escondido’s New Year’s Eve Street Festival “First Night” on the Main Stage and The Belly-Up Tavern in Solana Beach.

She moved to LA in 2003 where she immediately booked gigs at Harvelle's Blues Club, Highland Grounds and Genghis Cohen to name a few.  Soon after she was spotted playing at the famous Rainbow Room on the Hollywood Strip, which landed her the LA Music Awards nomination for Female Vocalist of the year and ultimately the WIN.  She was also selected that year as 1 of 24 semi-finalists in the country in the Solo Category of "Music Quest", a nationwide competition presented by Soul City Café, the brainchild of Jewel.

This impressive debut is not surprising given her musical pedigree.  Her Father is the late jazz radio announcer and legend, Chuck Niles, formerly on KKJZ, Long Beach, California, who was best known as “the voice of jazz”.  He is the only radio announcer to receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Tracy grew up in Pacific Palisades, CA seeing the top jazz artists and studying classical piano for nine years.  As a young girl, she heard the soulful jazz/blues singer Ernie Andrews and instantly wanted to emulate him.  Her other early influences were soul and blues singers Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt and Annie Lennox.   Niles thrives on performing live and the energy of an upbeat audience.  “I love it when someone relates and has their own personal experience through my music.   Then, I know......... I’ve made a difference.”
